[warm, welcoming tone] Hello there, my little friends! I'm Ms. Erica, and I am so glad you're here with me today. Are you ready for a story about finding your own special voice? Today we're reading 'Leo the Lion's Gentle Roar.' Leo was a little lion with a very big mane. He lived in the Golden Savanna, where all the other lions were known for their mighty roars. "A lion must be loud!" his father would say. Leo would try his best, but every time he opened his mouth, only a soft 'meep' would come out. Leo felt like he wasn't a real lion at all.

[curious and energetic] One morning, Leo decided to go on a journey to find his roar. He walked past the tall grass and the watering hole. He saw the monkeys swinging in the trees. "Hello, Leo!" they chattered. "Are you going to roar for us today?" Leo just looked down at his paws. He didn't want to 'meep' in front of his friends.

[slightly mysterious, soft] He reached the Great Echo Cave. "This is it," Leo thought. "If I can't roar here, I'll never find it." He took a deep breath, puffed out his chest, and... 'Meep!' The cave echoed back: 'Meep... meep... meep.' Leo sighed and sat down. He felt small and discouraged.

[surprised but helpful] Suddenly, he heard a tiny squeak. In the corner of the cave, a little mouse was trapped behind a heavy branch. "Help!" the mouse cried. Leo didn't roar. He didn't puff out his chest. He just walked over, used his strong lion paws, and gently lifted the branch. The mouse scampererd out, its little heart beating fast.

[tender, meaningful] "Thank you, Leo!" the mouse said. "You're the bravest lion I know." Leo was confused. "But I can't roar," he said. The mouse smiled. "You don't need to be loud to be brave. You were quiet and kind, and that's the best kind of roar there is."

[affectionate smile in voice] Leo felt a warm glow inside. He realized that the mouse was right. He didn't need to be the loudest in the savanna to be a great lion. He had a gentle roarโ€”the roar of kindness and helpfulness.

[proud and happy] Leo walked back to his family with his head held high. When he reached them, his father asked, "Did you find your roar, Leo?" Leo didn't 'meep'. He didn't try to shout. He just walked up to his father and gave him a gentle, confident nuzzle.

[warm, closing] From that day on, Leo was the most respected lion in the savanna. He showed everyone that true confidence comes from the heart, not just the throat. And whenever someone needed help, Leo was there with his gentle roar and his strong, kind paws.

[gentle, cozy] Leo returned to his family, knowing that his gentle roar was exactly what the savanna needed. He was a brave and kind lion, and he was proud to be exactly who he was. And so, under the warm African sun, Leo and his friends lived happily ever after.

[warm, meaningful] And remember, my friends, you don't have to be the loudest to be the bravest. Being kind and helpful is the strongest roar of all. I'll see you next time for another story. I love you, and goodnight.

The End. Thank you for listening to Story Time. We hope you have sweet dreams.
