Penny's Shiny Choice

Penny was excited as she jingled her five shiny coins in her little paw. It was a bright and sunny morning, and she had a special day planned. With her coins clinking, clinking, clinking, she felt like a big girl ready for an adventure. The market was bustling, and Penny was full of wonder, seeing so many things she might buy.

As Penny arrived at the market, her eyes grew wide with excitement. There was so much to see and hear! Stalls lined the path, filled with colorful fruits, toys, and knick-knacks. Penny took a deep breath, inhaling all the delicious smells. She was on a mission to spend her coins wisely, but the choices seemed endless!

Suddenly, Penny's eyes landed on a giant, glittery bouncy ball. Oh, how it sparkled in the sunlight! It was just her size and looked incredibly fun to play with. Penny imagined herself bouncing it high up in the sky, giggling with delight. "I want that!" she squealed, almost forgetting everything else around her.

But just as she was about to reach for the ball, her tummy made a loud grumble. Penny paused, remembering why she had come to the market in the first place. She needed something to eat for lunch. Her tummy was saying, 'Feed me!' Penny realized she had an important decision to make.

Penny glanced back at the tempting bouncy ball. It was definitely a ‘Want’. Then, she saw the stall selling fresh, juicy apples. They looked delicious and were exactly what her tummy needed. She thought about what was more important: something she wanted or something she really needed.

Making up her mind, Penny felt proud of her choice. She walked over to the apple stall and handed her coins to the friendly vendor. In return, she received a small bag of delicious red apples. Penny imagined how good they would taste, and her tummy did a happy little jump at the thought.

As Penny took a bite of the juicy apple, she savored the sweet taste. It was both crunchy and refreshing, just what she needed. Penny sat under a shady tree and enjoyed her snack, feeling satisfied with her decision. She knew she made the right choice by choosing a ‘Need’ over a ‘Want’.

With her hunger satisfied, Penny thought about the day and how she still had a few coins left. She decided to save them for something else she might need in the future. Reaching into her purse, Penny carefully placed the leftover coins into her piggy bank jar. The coins made a soft clink as they landed.
