High up in the sky, where the air is thin and sweet, lived Skye. Skye was a Cloud Shepherd. She wore a dress made of morning mist and had wings that shimmered like raindrops. Her job was to get the sky ready for bedtime.
The sun was getting heavy and tired. He wanted to sleep, but the clouds were scattered everywhere! Some were playing tag with the wind. Some were making silly shapes. 'Time to settle down, little puffs,' Skye called out softly.
Skye took out her silver whistle. It didn't make a loud noise; it made the sound of a gentle breeze. *Whoosh-shhh.* The playful clouds stopped spinning. They floated towards Skye, soft and white like cotton balls.
'Let's make a pillow,' Skye said. She guided the big, fluffy cumulus clouds together. Push, fluff, pat. Push, fluff, pat. Soon, they formed a giant, soft mountain in the West.
Next, she needed a blanket. She found the thin, wispy cirrus clouds drifting high above. 'Come down, darlings,' she whispered. She wove them together into a long, silky sheet that turned pink and orange as the sun touched it.
The Sun let out a long, warm sigh. He slowly lowered himself onto the fluffy cloud pillow. Skye gently pulled the pink blanket up to his chin. 'Comfy?' she asked. The Sun smiled and closed his dazzling eyes.
As the Sun slept, the sky turned a deep, velvet purple. Skye's work was almost done. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of glitter. She sprinkled it across the dark ceiling. Sprinkle, sprinkle. The first stars began to twinkle.
Skye found her own little cloud β a small, bouncy one right near the moon. She curled up on it. It was cool and soft. 'Goodnight, world,' she whispered.
And high above the sleeping earth, the Cloud Shepherd drifted away into a dream of her own, as the stars watched over the world below.
The End. Thank you for listening to Story Time. We hope you have sweet dreams.
