Read Along
When the sun goes down, most gardeners go inside. But not Leo. Leo was a Night Gardener. He was a small red fox with soft paws and a silver watering can. His job didn't start until the first star appeared.
Leo walked quietly through the village. Inside his pocket, he had a bag of seeds. But these weren't flower seeds or carrot seeds. They were Dream Seeds. They glowed with faint, varying colors—blue for flying, pink for candy, yellow for playing.
He stopped at the Badger's burrow. He could hear little snores coming from inside. Leo dug a tiny hole near the entrance and dropped in a yellow seed. 'A playful dream for you,' he whispered.
He tipped his silver watering can. But water didn't come out. Instead, shimmering stardust poured over the seed. Shhhhh... shhhhh. The ground sparkled, and a tiny, glowing sprout popped up instantly.
From the sprout, a large yellow bubble floated up. Inside the bubble, you could see kites flying and balls bouncing. The dream bubble floated right into the Badger's burrow. The snoring turned into a happy sigh.
Leo went to the birds' nest. He planted a blue seed in the branch box. He watered it with stardust. Swoosh! A blue bubble drifted up, filled with images of soaring high above the clouds. The sleeping birds twitched their wings.
He visited every house. A pink seed for the mouse (cheese dreams). A purple seed for the owl (library dreams). Soon, the whole village was covered in floating, glowing bubbles of happiness. It was the most beautiful garden Leo had ever grown.
Leo's watering can was empty. His paws were tired. He walked back to his own den. He didn't need a seed for himself. Seeing his friends sleeping happily was the best dream of all.
